About

Paper Botanics is the business of artist and self-proclaimed 'lousy gardener', Kylie Howlett.

Kylie is an emerging illustrator, creator and artist. She is a graduate in Contemporary Art, and is a current student in Illustration and Animation.

Following the increased popularity of indoor plants, Kylie filled her little house and studio with beautiful plants before she discovered she was a rotten gardener. After the untimely loss of a number of her favourite plants, Kylie realised she could combine her artistic skill and some handy crafts to create beautiful lifelike paper plants instead.

Now Kylie wants to share her original hand painted creations with other plant lovers who, like her, might lack a green thumb.

No yellowing leaves, no water worries. Just beautiful, natural paper plants to colour your darkest corners.

In May 2021, Kylie expanded her practice to include animals and insects as part of her process.
